Both these classes are taught by Mrs. Miller during 5th and 6th period. Being in English Honors means we have to work harder than average for we are actually learning some 9th grade stuff. It is not very hard but sometimes it is a lot of work. Our daily homework includes journal, reading 30 minutes, spelling, and some kind of grammar worksheet. Every trimester we have to do 3 essays/ speeches, and a book report (*End of each month); all which are worth around 100 points each. We also do MyAccess for writing and go through a required novel for reading. The books we have read together so far are My Brother Sam is Dead, Beowulf,The Call of the Wild,Anne Frank-The Diary of a Young Girl, andThe Adventures of Tom Sawyer. We are currently working on the book, The Giver. For these books, we are assigned vocabulary and study questions for each section we read. At the end of each week, we have spelling/grammar tests and a quiz for the book we are reading at the moment. Oh, did I mention? Most of the time, we have to create a poem based on the topic that is assigned and share with the rest of the class on Tuesday's. In all, this is a pretty fun class.
